Fail Fast!

WELCOME TO SPACE EXPRESS, the rocket-building, physics-puzzling, chaos-engine roguelike with an unstoppable countdown.

Your task, valued associate, is simple: bolt various blocks together into something that technically qualifies as a rocket. Corporate has already scheduled your launch window and will not be moved, delayed, or reasoned with. Whether your rocket is ready by then is your problem. So is whether it launches. They do not concern themselves with the difference.

Speaking of problems: make sure you make room for your cargo. That's what you're paid to transport, and someone will notice if it doesn't arrive.

AVAILABLE BUILD COMPONENTS (PLEASE SUBMIT FORM 2B-7 TO PROCUREMENT):

  • Fuel Components: Increase your total available fuel, extending burn time. More fuel means more time to reconsider your component placement decisions mid-flight.
  • Thrusters: Generate the raw, unrelenting power required to escape Earth's stubborn insistence on keeping you here. Side effects may include spinning.
  • Unlockable Components: Keep launching (and, statistically, crash-landing) to earn access to new components with their own quirks. Some lighten the load, some boost a thruster's output, some do something you'll just have to find out. We call this "innovation."

Management has generously approved an allocation of 5 retired well-proven thrusters to get you started. Use them wisely. Or don't; we're not your supervisor.

CONTROLS, AS DECREED BY MANAGEMENT:

  • Left / Right Arrow [A,D]: Nudge your piece into position. Precision is encouraged, though achieving it is entirely on you.
  • Up Arrow [W]: Rotate a piece. There is no wrong orientation, only orientations that have not yet been approved.
  • Down Arrow [S]: Accelerate a piece into place. Please do so responsibly.

Structural integrity, aerodynamics, and the laws of physics are considered suggestions. Good luck. Corporate is not liable for cargo, crew, or emotional damage.
